Palaces that you must visit in Madrid

¡Hola Spaneasiers! How are our amazing Spanish students doing? We hope that you’re all well so you can be able to enjoy our city the best way possible by not forgetting to wear a mask and putting some hydro gel or washing your hands. If you’re doing everything that’s asked, you can’t miss today’s post as we will show you the best palaces that you can find in Madrid.

As you may know, Spain has a long history behind its back, with lots of kings and queens. That’s why we have so many castles and palaces that have survived through the time. In our city, we are lucky that are all almost kept untouched.

Firstly, in Calle Princesa we can find El Palacio de Lira (Lira’s Palace), which is the residence of the House Alba. Inside this palace you will be able to find lots of pieces of important art as well of a full decorated house (it might be a little sumptuous). This palace also has a gallery that exhibits a portrait of every duke painted by many well-known artists. If you want to visit it, you can go on Fridays at 10:00, 11:00 or 12:00 pm.

By the other hand, in the town El Pardo, there is a marvelous palace that is used for important foreign people so they can stay in there while they visit Spain. However, if you aren’t a politician and you’re just a tourist you can do a tour with them as they will show you every piece of art that they have. This palace is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00.

Near the Cibeles Plaza, there’s a palace called Palacio de Linares (also called Casa de América). In this place you will see that there are so many events going on, but if you want to visit as a palace you can’t miss the luxurious rooms that you can see in the tour. You have to pay to get in but the experience deserves it! You can visit it Mondays to Fridays from 11:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 11:00 to 15:00.

Lastly, in Aranjuez you can find a palace that is surrounded of beautiful gardens that will make your experience better and you will for sure fall in love with this city. If you want to visit it we recommend to go in the morning as it will take a hole day to walk through the gardens of the palace and Aranjuez itself. The palace opens from Tuesday to Sunday at 10:00, but the gardens are always open.

Have you ever visited any of the palaces that we’ve showed you today? If you haven’t you should at least visit one! Also, if you want to discover cool places in Madrid you should definitely check out this post about five great cinemas that you can’t miss! See you in the next one!
