Hi Spaneasiers! How are your Spanish classes going? We hope you are learning a lot. Today we are going to talk about the main features and the advantages of the SIELE exam.
The SIELE exam is an official examination promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
SIELE certifies the degree of proficiency for the Spanish language with four tests: Reading and listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and spoken expression and interaction; the exam also takes as a reference the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It lasts 180 minutes and the score goes from 0 to 1000 (the maximum score of each test is 250). The exam can be taken by those people who want to certify their language skills regardless if it is as a foreign language, second language or mother tongue.
The SIELE exam is meant for young adults and adults. It is a suitable option for those people who need to get a certification in a short period of time in order to be admitted to university or to apply for a job. It is the perfect exam for those who need an almost immediate certification, since the results will be notified within a maximum of 3 weeks.
Unlike DELE, the validity of the results is 5 years. Another difference is the way to acquire the level. In DELE the student decides what level they want to achieve and prepares the exam according to that, while the SIELE exam is progressive. It is not necessary to take an exam of a specific level, the results obtained determine the level.
The exam is entirely completed on computer in interactive mode at accredited examination centers. There are more than 700 accredited centers and Spaneasy is one of them. So, if you have questions regarding the exam or you would like to take it, come and meet us! We will be very pleased to help you.
