A cool day in Madrid

Hello Spaneasiers! How is your routine doing? We hope that you enjoyed your summer but that you’re also ready for your normal routine as you start to study or to work again. On today’s post, we want to show and recommend you some cool places that you can visit if you want to have fun but not in a tiring way.

If you want to totally enjoy the day that we have planned, you need a few things in order to be ready: your phone totally charged, a charger battery (in case you use it too much), your favorite outfit and of course, wanting to have so much fun.

To start your day, you have to have a good breakfast in order to have energy to spend the day doing tons of activities and walking. That’s why we recommend this cafeteria in Lavapies called Pum Pum Café. We love this place because it uses healthy and ecofriendly products. Everything they make is delicious, but one thing we love the most is their croissants as they have many types and fillings.

Once you’re all set with your stomach happy with great food inside, you will need to get on a train that will bring you to Atocha, you can walk if you prefer as it’s really close from Lavapies. When you get there, you will need to go to a place that opened recently called Ikono Madrid. It’s an artistic place for everyone (kids included) where you can experience different types of rooms that they’ve created. You can take as many pictures as you want, or you can just enjoy with your senses the experience. The price to get in is 12,50 euros for adults and 8 euros for kids, it’s a bit pricey but it’s totally worth it!

If you are an art lover and you haven’t had enough in Ikono, you could go to CaixaForum because it’s really near Atocha and every month they have new expositions to see. If you’re 16 or younger, a La Caixa client or a student you can get in for free. If you aren’t any of those things, the entry is 6 euros and you can stay as much time as you want.

Lastly, if you spend the whole day walking around and going to different places you might feel hungry. If you go with friends, family or your couple, you could go to El Mercado de San Fernando (San Fernando’s Market). There you will find small places to eat tapas and other plates that you can try with your favorite drink.

And that’s everything for today! If you visit any of the places that we’ve mentioned you can tell us in the comments if you liked them or some other recommendations. Also, if you want to know more places to visit in Madrid, don’t forget to read this post where we talk about five cinemas that you can’t miss.
